It’s funny how people fail to read the headlines of my profile, get stroppy, call me unkind names and then block me before I can reply politely. As they are clearly the sort of people I wouldn’t want to meet in any case I suppose it’s for the best.

It confirms my decision to stick with old-fashioned cruising when I can see a guy’s eyes and sum him up immediately without a massive investment of time and expectation.

That said, men who do read my profile and still engage in conversation are usually absolutely lovely.

CRUISING INFORMATION

I occasionally stop off at local lay-bys and car parks. You’ll need to upload the WHAT3WORDS app. The codes below pinpoint a square 3 metres by 3 metres.

FOSSE WAY MONKS KIRBY ///fruits.glad.same This lay-by is now open again but the woodland is only accessible with care. Wait until there is no traffic and enter about 15 metres from the lower end of the lay-by. Guys in shorts get stung by nettles and brambles!!

Car fun is still possible, of course. The speed limit is 60mph so passers-by can’t see much.

///duet.stay.roadshow. I have had some good encounters in the lay-by on the other side of the road at the top of the hill. The traffic zooms past but a cyclist might see what’s going on.

A45/M45 JUNCTION ///happy.continued.conquests

Update 8/9/25 This has fully reopened at last. It’s next to the roundabout where the A45 meets the M45. Leave the roundabout following signs to B4429 DUNCHURCH. The parking area is immediately on your left. It is one-way so the exit is at the other end of the parking area onto the A45 Eastbound carriageway and then to the roundabout again.

Don’t use when cafe is open. The cafe closes Mon-Fri at about 3:30pm and it’s closed all day Sat & Sun. There is now a warehouse estate right next to this. There’s a lot less cover than there was but it’s okay after dark. That said, I have still had some fun encounters in daylight. When it’s open it’s the best cruising site close to Rugby town centre.

SHARNFORD LAY-BY ///cleansed.shunts.hooked. The Fosseway connects with this lay-by.

I have had quite a few good encounters in the lay-by in vehicles (especially vans) and in the hedge while the Summer cover was good.

On the Fosseway, a hump-backed bridge crosses the River Soar and another less noticeable bridge (approximate location ///clashing.ramming.erupt) with two brick parapets crosses a small brook. I’ve had fun near the two bridges and also in cars and vans parked in the pull-ins.

Sometimes when I’ve met a guy in a passing place we’ve both driven to ///passports.warbler.shot and parked together in this corner of the Fosse Nature Reserve. Take care as this car park is busy with dog-walkers et al.

BURBAGE COMMON & WOODS I’ve rarely been here recently. I had no luck previously on the South of the railway ///bombard.torso.relief though I walked a long way in these woods and on the opposite side of the drive. I had better luck North of the railway. I parked at ///parading.organs.stardom and found a good spot at ///palm.rockets.rivals where I had daytime fun. I could see out of this spinney but passers-by can only see in if they’re close.

TWYCROSS LAY-BY A444 ///kilt.pothole.breed This is used by some car and lorry drivers. Not much cover in the Winter but fun in cars or cabs is possible. My last visit was some time ago and I had two pleasant daytime car encounters. It’s a bit too far from Rugby for me to be a regular there.

SWIFT VALLEY NATURE RESERVE

IMPORTANT NOTES. There are height restrictions so vans can’t meet here. Furthermore cars with a low or long chassis can ground when they turn down a sleep slope. You can park on the road past the Brownsover Hotel and walk into the park. Vehicles cannot access the site from Brownsover Road: you have to drive round to Brownsover Lane. (Pedestrians CAN access from Brownsover Road. The park is a very short walk from Rugby North (Newbold) Premier Inn.)

///lowest.resist.double. This code pinpoints the start of a path which crosses the River Swift and leads to some secluded areas. Cross the metal bridge and take the left fork into a spinney. Step over a fallen trunk and trip over another branch. The path leads to an electricity pylon opposite which a path leads to some cover (///chase.entertainer.hits) which is water-logged in wet weather. The main path goes past a wood on your right at the end of which is a path into the wood ///tips.deep.counts. I’ve had random encounters with several lovely guys. Gay/bi/curious. I’ve been at lunchtime/early afternoon and I’d say that 50% of my visits have been successful. Now that Fosseway Monks Kirby’s wood is closed off and the A45/M45 lay-by is doomed, Swift Valley looks as if it might get better.

LAY-BY ON SMOCKINGTON LANE. B4114 Someone on this website has told me about ///love.timing.scores which looks promising. It’s good for arranged meets apparently.

LAY-BY ON GREEN END ROAD near Fillongley. I’m going to try ///flash.orange.brings

GOPSALL WHARF ///club.radiated.glitter It’s a long round trip from where I live but I’ve heard good things about it. I visited for the second time in early March 2025. The car park is unblocked again (May 2025) Walk over the Green Lane bridge and find fun in the wood down a very steep slope on your left. Someone gave me a better WHAT3WORDS code for the position of the carpark: ///optimally.lollipop.shudders :-D

There are some good places near Brinklow Marina:

CATHIRON LANE ///zips.unsecured.enhanced I think this is the pullin where I had a wonderful chance encounter.

///husband.juicy.plantings is a decent sized pullin where I had two good encounters Apr 2024.

CATHIRON LANE BRIDLE WAY ///sending.squirts.stay This gives the start of a bridle way which crosses the canal then goes under the railway. There are several pull-ins near the start where you can park. Members of the public walk, cycle and ride horses along this path. Boats also glide quietly past on the canal, so if you want some fun it’s safest to go into woods away from the path and canal. Don’t use parts which are barbed wired off; you’ll draw attention to what’s going on. I met a married man here once and we walked to a wood beyond the bridge on the left of the path.

CATHIRON LANE CAR PARK ///scorching.drags.sweated There’s a car park right by the canal which is used by the public. Guys tell me they have organised meets here after dark. Under bridges etc..

The A446 LAY-BY near Stonebridge can be busy at any time of the day or night but I only go there when I am in the vicinity. ///locker.oils.casual (northbound only)

Near to that, there’s a more discreet lay-by south of the Stonebridge roundabout on the Kenilworth Road (A452) northbound only. (///podcast.munch.streaking) Truck drivers have been known to flash other guys walking past their cabs here.

LUTTERWORTH & DUNTON BASSETT

///hides.gobbling.courtyard on the A426 travelling South towards Lutterworth just after the Dunton Bassett traffic lights. There are three other lay-bys (where nothing much happens) near here: one southbound and two small ones northbound.

One night, ages ago, I pulled at one the northbound lay-bys just by chance. I can’t remember which one it was! I need to investigate more fully.

A43 NEAR HARDWICK (!)

///massaged.helpers.crisp Is a lay-by on the Kettering-bound side of the A43. I’ve rarely failed to pull there but it’s a long round trip from Rugby.

FOSSEWAY SHIPSTON-ON-STOUR

I’ve had some good fun here recently when I’ve been passing. Last time a daytime threesome in the hedge between the lay-by and the road. I’ve never been there in the evenings. There was some regular trouble in 2023 from a couple of nasty guys in a van. The police dealt with them.

AYLESTONE MEADOW LOCAL NATURE RESERVE, Leicester is one I’ve heard lots about but have never visited.

Once you’re on this lane you cross the river and canal. Keep right and you come to the main car park.

There used to be a second car park. Apparently that’s where guys went to look for fun in the woods. I don’t think it’s there any more though.

NEWBOLD COMYN - RIVERSIDE WALK Before the CoViD lockdown this was pretty good but since then the discreet paths are now blocked with brambles and I’ve had no encounters there lately. I know men still go there, though. The path starts on Willes Road directly opposite the Eastern exit from Jephson Gardens approximately at ///event.rocky.packet

When there’s a choice, take the paths closer to the river.

CRACKLEY WOODS. I used to go there often but haven’t bothered lately because it’s been busy with genuine dog walkers. All the old little paths I used to know disappeared during CoViD lock down through lack of footfall!

HS2 construction nearby has changed things too. The lane going North from Crackley Woods is sometimes blocked. However I did pop into the wood North of Cryfield Grange Road recently and had a very pleasant encounter with two cruisers: one participating and the other watching. STONELEIGH LAY-BY. ///dairy.slap.hello pinpoints a lay-by which I’ve heard about recently.. When you’re coming OUT of the village of Stoneleigh you’ll cross an old bridge. Follow this road to the right. It is the B4113. Go up the hill and you’ll find the lay-by on your left. Cars park perpendicular to the road.

I explored this place in June 2025. Across a large field there’s a large wood. I didn’t run into any others cruisers.

It can be busy in the day with genuine walkers and dog-walkers so be careful. I know guys have had fun there at night either in their cars or in the woods. Please let me have any further information.

A fellow cruiser tells me that he’s used the woods on the other side of the road.

NAPTON RESERVOIR ///pulled.unzipped.toys indicates a little wood next to the Napton Reservoir car park. I haven’t tried this myself yet. If you have any information please let me know.

ASHBY ST LEDGERS ///manhole.relatives.gifts Be careful with this place. Locals are very aware what goes on here. It’s consequently nothing like as busy as it used to be. I rarely go here.

There are a few spaces for parking. Climb the hill to get out of sight of the road. (The hill is a spoil heap from the Kilsby railway tunnel whose Southern entrance is on the other side of the lane.) The last time I went here, a handsome guy parked a minute later and followed me. I wondered if he was a local going to kick off, but he gave the right signals and we had a quickie.

My advice is to be very wary though.

CARVELLS LANE/JUNCTION 1 ON THE A14. I think this is only any good for arranged meets. I’ve never had any random encounters here.

If travelling Eastwards on the A14, exit at junction 1. The slip road bends 180 degrees to meet the A5199. Turn left, cross over the A14 and take the first left. This is Carvells Lane.

If travelling Westwards on the A14, exit at junction 1. The slip road bends 180 degrees to meet the A5199. Turn left and take the first right (before the bridge over the A14). This is Carvells Lane.

There is a salt box ///drags.blubber.self in a pull-in on the left and I believe this is where guys meet. There are paths into a wood. Let me know if you have any further information.
