FabGuys works with law-enforcement agencies and responds to properly authorised requests for information.
All requests are carefully reviewed regarding the legal requirements governing disclosure.
Most requests we receive are for communications data under the Investigatory Powers Act 2016 (IPA). This is our preferred route where applicable.
Our contact and capability details are listed in the UK Home Office KET team Data Dictionary. UK Officers should liaise with their force’s Single Point of Contact (SPOC) to make enquiries.
If you are unsure how to proceed, please contact us and leave your official law-enforcement email address. A member of our team will be in touch to help you start the process.
We review each request to confirm that it is genuine, properly authorised and sufficiently clear.
We may ask for clarification, a narrower scope or further authority where a request is incomplete, unclear or seeks information beyond what the accompanying legal process covers.
Where disclosure is authorised, information is provided securely to the requesting officer or force. The information available will depend on the account, the feature concerned, the relevant dates and our applicable retention periods.
We target a response to complete, properly authorised standard requests within five working days. Complex or unusually broad requests may take longer, particularly where clarification or further legal authority is required.
Requests involving an immediate risk of death or serious physical harm should be clearly marked URGENT: RISK TO LIFE.
The request should explain the nature of the emergency, identify the person or account concerned, specify the information required and provide email contact details for the officer in charge.
The request should identify the issuing body, the legal basis, the account concerned and the information required. UK Law enforcement court orders usually take the form of a PACE Order; please contact us in the first instance to ensure we hold relevant data and to assist you with a Notice of Application.
We handle law-enforcement requests confidentially and in accordance with applicable law.
